We often over look tenancy as borrowing another person's property but when we rent, that's exactly what we are doing. I was always taught that if I borrow something, return it better than when I used it. As a tenant is using another person's property, here are the most important things you can do as a tenant? I've come up with what I believe to be the top 5.
Pay rent on time: The most important thing a tenant can do to help their landlord is to pay rent on time. This will help the landlord cover their mortgage payments, property taxes, and other expenses associated with the rental property.
Keep the rental property clean and well-maintained: Tenants should take good care of the rental property and keep it clean and tidy. They should report any damages or issues to the landlord immediately so that they can be addressed in a timely manner.
Follow the rules of the lease agreement: The lease agreement outlines the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. Tenants should make sure they understand and follow the rules of the lease agreement to avoid any conflicts with the landlord.
